Telehealth Music Therapy

What is telehealth music therapy?

Telehealth allows music therapists to connect remotely with individuals and groups using a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform. This allows our music therapy services to reach those located outside of the Phoenix-metro area as well as those who must limit travel and physical contact due to health or other concerns. Telehealth is available for a wide variety of individuals and needs.

Who can do telehealth music therapy?

Click on a section below to learn more about what populations we serve with telehealth. We are rapidly expanding our telehealth services. If you don’t see your group or are not sure if you are eligible, reach out to us. We will help you decide if telehealth music therapy is right for you.

Music therapy can be used to support children from birth to age 5 through critical periods of development of cognitive, social, communication, and motor skills.

HOH provides services for children, teens, and adults with a variety of developmental differences including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy and other developmental needs. In telehealth sessions, clients work with music therapists to address their goals to increase social, communication, cognitive, and motor skills.

HOH works with our community partners to provide music therapy as part of comprehensive inpatient and intensive outpatient substance abuse recovery programs. In these music therapy groups, clients focus on learning coping skills, processing and regulating emotions, and increasing outlets for self-expression. Contact us if you are interested in adding telehealth music therapy to your addiction recovery treatment program.

HOH works with our community partners to provide services for those at the end of life. Music therapy in a hospice setting helps patients manage pain, regulate mood, process emotions, and improve overall quality of life. Music therapists in hospice also provide legacy projects and grief and bereavement support to patients and their families. Hospice music therapy services can be provided via telehalth upon request.
